Stronger Together: Heart Health and Stroke Safety
King Leroy McClure – Athlete with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM)
King was a thriving athlete when he was diagnosed with HCM, a serious heart condition that could have ended his sports career. However, King turned his diagnosis into a source of strength, becoming an advocate for heart health and athletes with medical conditions.
Leroy McClure Jr. – Stroke Survivor
Leroy is a dedicated father and stroke survivor who inspires everyone around him. After surviving a stroke, Leroy underwent extensive rehabilitation and regained his independence, becoming an advocate for stroke recovery.
AKHF empowers individuals and communities through health, wellness and mental health education, innovative technology, and compassionate support.
HeartSmart Program
Designed for athletes with heart conditions like HCM, our program provides specialized health coaching, fitness programs, and nutrition support. We help athletes regain confidence and manage their condition while continuing to pursue their goal.
StrokeGuard Connect
Our program offers tailored rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy for stroke survivors. We provide long-term recovery plans to help individuals regain independence and improve their quality of life.
Mental Health Support
Living with a chronic illness can take a toll on mental health. Our program offers therapy, peer support, and coping strategies to help individuals manage the emotional impact of heart conditions and stroke recovery.
